iPod touch tablet

Just as I was listening to the Macworld Podcast Imaginary netbook & Pinch Media they were discussing that would not go into the netbook market, but instead create a large iPhone/iPod touch.

I agree with this but I don't somethings about the design I completely disagree with. The size I feel with be the best is to have a A5 (148mm × 210mm) which is hald the size of an A4 sheet of paper. This means that is fairly small but can accomodate display A4 pages as well in landscape mode. Displaying A4 will show the top of the bottom half, which is still a lot of text.

The other big thing that I feel they were wrong about is the stylus. Most of the data entry I beleive would be done on the touch screen, but with the A5 size page, being able to quickly annotate a document. With a stylus you can just make the annotations quickly and without fuss. Because of the pixels per inch of the iPhone screen the writting will be very clear. There will be no handwritting recognition as it is really for notes and not entering masive amounts of data. If you need to enter data then the on screen keyboard can be used, or a blue tooth keyboard. Funny that Apply has one of the best small BT keyboards around which will work perfectly with no changes. The other use for the sytlus is for drawing, which would be spectacular.

I feel a product like this would be a great all round product for reading e-Books, and surfing the web.

Lastly the development of applications for this can already be done. The iPhone currently has 2 resolutions that need to be handled, and this is all done in the nibs, so you would just start creating displays for the new sizes which will give you more room to make better screens.
